The kid in me still enjoys cartoons, especially soul-touching, uplifting, self-empowering and/or humorous Disney movies like The Fox and the Hound, The Lion King, Mulan and the Shrek series. I’m sure many adults do as well, some more than others.

The important themes in Puss in Boots warmed my heart as well—friendship, having BIG dreams, compassion, courage, unconditional forgiveness (conditional at first), teamwork, exciting adventures, integrity, loyalty, honor, humor, a willingness to see the good in others, change (of heart), and last but not least…unconditional love.

I also wrote another post today called, “The Heart-Warming Gifts of Frozen,”which is about my all-time favorite Disney movie, Frozen.
One of my older half-sisters/the younger one (from my biological father’s first marriage, whom I talked to for the first time in 2012), shared a childhood story with me a while back that touched my heart.
When her, my oldest half-sister, and my oldest half-brother (the only one whom I’ve never talked to or met before) were children, my grandfather—my biological father’s father who helped my half-siblings’ mother raise them—didn’t allow them to watch cartoons because he was very strict in his Christian religious ways.
Therefore, as an adult, she made up for some of her lost childhood times, like enjoying cartoons; and she absolutely loves watching Disney movies. I admired the gentle and innocent side of her that reminded me of a care-free child.

I was also able to relate to her free-spirited nature because during that time-frame, I had come upon my favorite childhood cartoon/animae series called Candy, which I’m so grateful for. Note: I learned as an adult that in Japan, the show is called Candy Candy
I was so excited to find such a hidden treasure; some of my best childhood memories were from watching this cartoon series.

Watching Candy often made me want to emulate her by doing and Being the following: smile, laugh, go on adventures, be creative with my imagination, have hope; be kind, helpful, and uplifting to others; have fun, experience true love, cry tears of sadness, as well as tears of joy.
It’s amazing how a simple cartoon can influence a child. I believe this show encouraged me to be a more free-spirited and fun tomboy when I was in elementary school; and the beautiful memories of it continued to move me throughout my adulthood.

The main character is a girl named Candy, whose life started with what most of humanity would consider an unfortunate circumstance—as an infant, she was left at the doorstep of an orphanage.
Despite many more challenges and heartbreaks throughout her life—that bring her moments of frustration, confusion, anger, sadness, fear, and even tears (like the rest of us)—Candy courageously overcomes them.
She uses her inner-strength, positive attitude, positive outlook on life, determination (to Be overall happy), perseverance, tomboy toughness and playfulness, refreshing confidence and assertiveness, honesty, a great sense of humor, resilience, gentle love, very compassionate and thoughtful heart, sparkling personality, and her faith in an all-loving God.

Candy epitomizes positive energy, generosity, courage, inner-strength, loyalty, deep understanding, empathy, compassion, forgiveness, acceptance, embrace and unconditional love as she touches and transforms the lives of all those she crosses paths with…even the stubborn “bad” or “evil” people who have forgotten their true nature—especially those who have continually tormented Candy with much of their hurtful intentions, words and actions (that ultimately stem from their fear energy).

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT for one of the episodes below:
In episode 18, Candy’s loving nature eventually transforms a “cold-hearted brute”—who initially handed Candy over to bandits so that she could be sold to child traffickers, in order to spare his own life—into a man who does something for another for the first time in his life (he decides to rescue Candy towards the end, and even cries for her).
Candy also crosses paths with loving and wise souls—some initially disguised as “unfriendly” ones—who encourage, deeply move, motivate, uplift and inspire to become an even stronger and more loving Being to herself and humanity.
Candy often expresses her gratitude for all the blessings in her life, even the hurtful people and events that she later recognizes as disguised blessings that gift her with great wisdom.
From a plethora of life experiences, she learns that even outer appearances can be deceiving—that even mean-looking people have a good side to them. As Candy learns more life lessons, she makes even further effort to see the good in others.
Candy’s expanding soul growth, to include her habitual positive attitude, very loving nature, frequent expressions of gratitude and appreciation for Life—especially for the small things—enables her to maintain a high vibrational frequency most of the time.
The following is the opening song:
Candy-Candy – the opening song in Korean language
I shared this video, along with the first episode, in my “Videos That Resonate with Me” sub-category of my blog a while back.
However, the movie Frozen inspired me to not only write a post about that movie, but to also write a post about another wonderful and brilliant creation that I believe highly impacted my life.
I looked up an English version of the Candy song, but it was completely different from the original. I wanted to share this song because of the lyrics.
Granted, I don’t agree with the second verse (in italics), because I no longer believe in suppressing our feelings—something that we’re conditioned to do by society.
Like Neale Donald Walsch mentioned in one of his books—feelings are the language of the soul.
I also don’t agree with the last verse because I believe crying is just our bodies’ way of expressing energies that stem from either love or fear. It’s also part of our healing process—of releasing painful memories stored within our DNA that no longer positively serves our soul growth/evolution. And last but not least, crying helps infants, who can’t talk, communicate their needs; hence, crying is not “stupid” PERIOD
The following is my own translation of the song, and it somewhat reminded me of the main song from the movie Frozen:
Whether I’m feeling lonely or sad, I’m not going to cry.
Hold it in (suppress)…hold it in…and then hold it in again, why should I cry?
I’m going to laugh as I run through the green fields
I’m going to sing as I look up at the blue sky
My name is….my name is…my name is Candy!
For some reason, when I’m alone, I start feeling gloomy
However, when that happens, I’m going to remind myself to have a conversation with the me in the mirror
Smile! Smile! Young girl who is like a wild rose
No more stupid tears [ I can’t clearly make out the last word, but I’m pretty sure it’s tears] Candy Candy!
The following is just the first of the many collections of videos (on You Tube) from the Candy series (Enjoy! ^_^):
Candy-Candy – in Korean language 1 episode
Candy Candy Episode 1 1/2 eng sub (While looking up an English version online, I noticed that this video has English subtitles. I also noticed that the Japanese lyrics to the opening song is a little different from the Korean version, the one I grew up listening to and watching)
Also, for a Korean version , the following link is just one of the 115 Episodes that has clear images and better sound than some other videos:
www.ekoreantv.com-들장미소녀 캔디.E097.꿈에서까지 본 재회 (“The long awaited reunion”)
Note: After watching an episode, the next episode may not show up in the right-hand column. When that happens, just copy and paste “www.ekoreantv.com-들장미소녀 캔디.E___(fill in the blank with the number of the next episode)” and it will appear.
For a summary of all the episodes, click the link ==> List of Candy Candy episodes
I later found a Japanese version of Episodes 96-115 with English subtitles, but even though you click on the “first” button, it doesn’t go to Episode 1 (at least from my end): Candy Candy Episodes (free streaming).
Enjoy all you Candy fans out there! ^_^ I thought I’d share all of this since it was like pulling teeth to find a set of Candy episodes that I could understand and watch without much static, poor images, and/or a discontinuation of You Tube videos.
WARNING: Last SPOILER ALERT for the last episode below that’s not the end of the story:
Although the wonderful story about Candy (a total of 115 episodes) leaves one hanging in the last episode (and possibly even final episode that we can ‘watch’), especially when it comes to Candy’s relationship with her true love Terry.
The woman (Susanna) that Terry feels obligated to be with is not a healthy and happy relationship that will last, since true love is not about manipulating another with guilt (or even controlling another) with false hopes that the other will eventually fall in love with self.
I believe true love is about what Candy and Terry shared so generously, passionately and in a profound way—Natural Attraction/Chemistry (and being able to recognize it with one’s feelings, even if subtle), Joy (like playfulness, excitement, and much humor), Deep Understanding (i.e., Candy understanding why Terry outwardly displays a tough and obnoxious guy image), Empathy, Love (like Compassion, the highest frequency of the Love frequency spectrum), Peace (comforting one another), Truth (being honest with one another), Freedom (allowing one another to Be who they truly are, and no excessive neediness, jealousy, and expectations), Trust (believing in one another), Wisdom (teaching one another), and Sacrifice (doing what’s best for one another despite intense feelings).
Regardless of the continuation story/sequel (after episode 115) that apparently hasn’t been published in English yet for a long time due to the author’s personal reasons, I choose to believe in a blissful ending for Candy, who definitely deserves to live her version of heaven on earth.
In my personal version of the ending of Candy, in which I’m able to visualize all the characters, as well as their voices, Candy’s high vibrational frequency—which is in alignment with her True Self—allows her to tune into many more heavenly blessings/life experiences from her magnificent universe (e.g., abundance, prosperity, true love, success on all levels, development of deep character, expanding heart, etc.)
Candy has successfully passed all life lessons in this lifetime with flying colors. It was necessary for her to experience much darkness and fear energy in life so that she can become the ultimate Light and Love to humanity…sending ripples out that will impact souls throughout her Universe.
The following are a couple of quotes by Candy from the website Anohito – Candy Candy Final Story untangled (regarding the continuation story from books) which I only read bits and pieces of so far since some of the information didn’t resonate with me (i.e., the website writer’s belief that situations can be ‘impossible’ due to time-frame, rules, and what sometimes hypocritical society demands; I believe ANYTHING is ‘possible’ as long as we choose to believe so, and then know so deep within our souls, even if it means being an outcast to one’s current sciety):
“I am truly grateful to my parents who left me in Pony’s Home. It is because of them that I met you! It is I who most utterly thankful. That is right Albert, My happiness is now.” (B2/pp 316-322)
“After the long silence, he began to talk about the story of your mother and your father, Miss Rosemary’s and Mr. Vincent Brown’s marriage. Saying that coming from different social status, they faced strong opposition from the family, but his sister did not yield. A person’s happiness is not based on one’s pedigree or money. It is living with the ones you love. If I could not have that, then I will forever shed the name of Ardlay.”
The following is just one of of the letters exchanged between Candy and other characters (a continuation from Episode 115) from the website Excerpts of Letters from Volume 3 in the CandyCandy Novel written by Kyoko Mizuki:

Susanna’s letter to Candy
(translated by Hitomi Fujii):
Dear Candy,
I am sorry you had to leave New York the way you did. Now I know where Terry’s heart is. All I can do is hope someday he loves me. I can’t walk at all, but knowing that he is by my side makes me happy. Now I realize that he is my life and soul and all I can do is be by his side and wait for him forever if I have to.
Susanna

The following link is a sequel (after Episode 115) that was created by a Korean that has a perfect ending for all the Candy&Terry fans out there => Korean Candy Candy Sequel: “Mrs. Candy” Novel by Sim Sang Gone
I deeply love my fictional, yet, amazing role model and spark of hope for humanity, and I look forward to meeting others like her one day…even if it’s not in this world.
I’ve met and known others who have some of Candy’s wonderful qualities, but I have yet to meet someone who absolutely blows me away…the way she does.
My older, sister-like Korean neighbor (from Okinawa in 2000-2001), whom I wrote about in several posts (to include, “Inspiration”), comes close, but I realize that she didn’t have the sparkling personality, gentle loving presence and care-free nature that Candy does. My neighbor’s love was more like tough love—very direct—although she was a calm and wise spiritual teacher.
I believe, that as I continue to work on fully remembering and becoming my authentic, full-potential Self, I will cross paths with such a Great Being…who will be a reflection of my True Self/Higher Self/Integrated Soul (Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine Energies)/True Love/Twin Flame/Trinity: God, Goddess, and Divine Spirit/All That Is.

The following is the meaning for Angel Number 733 (as seen above in one of the Candy images), from the website sacredscribesangelnumbers.blogspot.com:
“Angel Number 733 indicates that you are being fully supported, surrounded and loved by the angels and higher beings of the spiritual realms […]”

Finally an ending:
