A Visit from an Elusive Hummingbird
Yesterday, a seemingly magical hummingbird visited our balcony, and my cats and I had the very brief opportunity to bask in its adorable tininess, beauty, and powerful, soul-igniting presence.
From a strictly logical perspective, the hummingbird was more than likely attracted to the long, red, thick, clay pot (that had weights inside) full of various artificial, colorful and huge flowers (to include solar flowers for night time). Note: I will share a pic at a later time; it’s super windy outside, so I had to keep it laid down after it was knocked over
However, from a Multidimensional, expanded perspective (which includes the physical mind perspective), I trust that Spirit within sent me an outer message because S/He knew I would be inspired to look up a few interpretations of the hummingbird spirit guide (aka animal totem).
One of the animal spirit guide interpretations that I highly resonated with was from a website that I often used as a guidance tool (while following my inner-guidance first and foremost).
The following are non-consecutive, key parts to the main message of Shamanic Journey’s, “Hummingbird Power Animal Messenger Of Joy.”
Hummingbirds gifts include the ability to heal by using light as a laser from mouth, endurance over long journeys, ability to fly into small places to heal, joy, happiness, love, timelessness,
The hummingbird brings special messages for us. It is a teacher of joy, and their lessons are many […]
Hummingbird teaches us to go beyond time and to see that what happened in the past and what may happen in the future is not nearly as important as what is occurring now.
Remember to hover in the moment, and to appreciate its sweetness. Drink deeply of the nectar of life […]
It is said that the hummingbird brings love as no other medicine can, and its presence brings joy to the observer […]
Their physical lightness is a powerful reminder for us to lighten up.
When weighed down with worries, our spirits cannot soar […]
If this is your guide, you have high energy and a spirit that must be free. If you become caged, restricted, your wonderful, free, loving energy suffers great depressions and feelings of uselessness.

A Visit from Black/Rainbow Horsefly That Led to Divine Gifts
Horsefly Meets Cats Named Shadow & Leo
Shortly after the visit from the elusive hummingbird, a large horsefly came buzzing into our apartment. I usually leave our balcony screen door slightly opened since my cats love to bask in the sun, be enveloped by the cool breeze, and just enjoy being outdoors.; plus, being in Flagstaff, we’re surround by a lot of tall, green trees.
We have two cats now, a female, two-year old black cat I named Shadow, who was once a semi-feral stray from our old apt complex in Helotes, TX, and Leo, our male kitten adopted in early December turned adolescent cat in January of this year. I shared some recent pics of them at the end of the post, “The Lesson of the So-Called Bad Personality.“
Though Shadow usually observe flies rather than catch them and eat them like some other insects. However, Leo is very adamant of swatting at them whenever one of them come by once in a blue moon.
So at one point, I noticed that Leo was sniffing the fly that was crawling on the ground. I grabbed the usual plastic cup and a thick piece of paper, scooped up the fly, and gently tossed it out into the balcony area.
Whenever I do this with various insects or bugs (the latter I lay on the ground outside), they usually fly away; but this fly landed back on our balcony floor.
When I took a closer look at it, it appeared as though one or two of its legs on the left side were missing, which explains why it was crawling.
I just following my inner and put my left hand above the fly and sent it healing energies. I realize this may sound coo-coo for cocoa puffs for many people, but I’ve done this a couple of times before without thinking too much about it; otherwise, my logical mind may convince me that I’m wasting my time, and that’s it won’t work.
Trust/Faith in Healing Hands
Between the fall of 2012 and the spring of 2013 I worked as an Assistant Teacher at Mustard Seed (an Early Learning Center).
One day, while taking out the trash to the dumpster, I noticed a large, black and rainbow colored butterfly crawling on the ground; it was so beautiful. I bent down and saw that it only had half a wing on its left side.
I didn’t know how to help it, but I desired to, so I followed my inner guidance again, and simply did the only thing I knew how to do at that very moment.
I placed my hand above the butterfly and sent it healing energies, and chose to trust Spirit within (each of us) that whatever happened after that moment was meant to be highly beneficial to interconnected Life/All That Is; so even if it passed away, it would Be Free in another energy state.
Also, who knows? Perhaps one seemingly magical and miraculous day, I will have the opportunity to actually see and witness (with my Multidimensional eyes, to include physical eyes) the wonders of my own healing hand (which I trust we all have the ability to do, and much more, as our once dormant DNA—mislabeled as “junk DNA” by arrogant scientists—becomes more and more active).
Galactic/Universal Puzzle Pieces of Insights
As I’ve shared before, this is why I love blogging. As I’m typing away, I noticing the similarities, the signs, the symbols, the Divine synchronicity…that are all meant to bring together (within me) the Earthly/Galacitic/Universal puzzles pieces.
I now trust that I was meant to briefly work children at places like Little Cherubs and Mustard Seed—both names of the places related to faith/trust, though I’ve chosen a while back not to be a member of any world religion; however, I do trust that there are small gems of truths and wisdom within all religions, belief systems, and spiritual teachings.
I used to be hard on myself for seemingly not being able to hold a civilian job for a long period of time, but that’s because it’s not about linear time (from limited, physical mind perspective), but about the quality of moments I spent with these children, as well as the adult coworkers.
I’ve noticed that whether it was the black and rainbow colored butterfly that was injured a while back, or the black and rainbow colored horsefly that was injured recently, the similar patterns between these two beings is Spirit’s way of getting my attention.
So what’s the message Beloved Self/I (God) AM (Goddess) Presence?
I trust that black is symbolic of the great void (aka “darkness”/The Unknown/Space/Black Hole/Circle/Sphere/Left-Handed Spiral/Divine Feminine energy/Cosmic Heart/Yin/Moon/Source/Prime Creator/Creator of All Creation: Crop Circle 6666/Very Holy Spirit/Divine Mother Goddess).
I trust that the rainbow is symbolic of all of Life birthed from the void, starting with white (aka Light/The Known/Light Rays/Multiverse/Square/Cube/Right-Handed Spiral/Divine Masculine energy/Comic Mind/Yang/Sun/God/original split from Source/birthed from Prime Creator/Created from Creator of All Creation: Crop Circle 6666/Part of Very Holy Spirit/One with Divine Mother Goddess).
Horsefly Spirit Guide Leading to Story of Inanna: Ancient Sumerian Goddess of Love, Beauty, Sensuality, Sex, Desire, Fertility, War, Justice—aka Goddess Ishtar/Mama/Hathor/Shakti/Aphrodite/Gaia…
First of all, since one hummingbird spirit guide interpretation was already shared above, the following are non-consecutive, key sections to the reading, “Fly Animal Totem” that I found most beneficial:
Greetings from the Oracle! It has been a while but you are not forgotten…. today the fly comes to us. Although one of the yuckier totems, they have their magic, and flies rule the day today!
The first story I will tell gives the fly its true place of reverence.
Way back in Sumerian times we worshiped the great sky goddess, Inanna. She took a terrifying journey to the underworld where she […]
An ancient tale of death and rebirth reminds us of the power of cycles. Flies were the ones for the job, and quite diligent and clever in their work.
Ancient Egyptians awarded great generals a golden fly medal to celebrate their exceptional valor – have you been brave lately?
The fly is all about renewal, abundance, vision, and mobility.
Flies move smoothly through Air element, which is all about communication and logical flow. Their speed, and how quickly they are consumed by predators, imbue the fly with a notable impermanence and the power of rapid change […]
A truly amazing seer, the fly encourages us to use what we have, and to see all angles of our surroundings and options […]
Resourcefulness and swift abundance are two qualities that the fly can bring to you […] If the fly has come to you, consider it a blessing! Rely on its energy to help you to find hidden value [I add “within you” as well] around you, to see, and to enjoy great abundance.
The Connection Between the Hummingbird and the Horsefly
Similarities: They are both capable of flight, they’re fast, they’re very determined to survive, they’re able to endure harsh surroundings, they’re resilient,
Differences: Besides the obvious physical and non-physical characteristics, the hummingbird is usually welcomed by general society, whereas a horsefly is usually perceived as repulsive by general society.
But yet, both the butterfly (also welcomed by society) and the horsefly that I encountered in the past/present—simultaneously occurring in the NOW, to include the future—were the same colors (black and rainbow colors), both capable of flight, both tiny, and ultimately…both living, interconnected beings (parts) of The One (the whole) whom Spirit doesn’t discriminate when giving them both Cosmic, Unconditional/True Love (though humans usually do).
By comparing the hummingbird and horsefly, I’ve noticed that, despite outer surface differences, they have more in common with one another.
So how can we use this lesson in relation to human beings? Well, throughout human history, people (and other interconnected beings) have either been welcoming of the known, similar, attractive, likable and/or lovable others (like the hummingbird), or rejecting of the unknown, different, annoying, dirty, and/or repulsive (like the horsefly).
I trust this to be a great reminder, that despite the many differences (on the outer, physical surface) of human beings and other interconnected beings within this Galaxy and beyond, we have much more in common from within.
Because it doesn’t matter what plethora of earthly labels and backgrounds we, as humans (and even other interconnected beings), have, claim, or supposedly own, Unconditional Love—the deep, core essence that exists within All of Life within this Galaxy and beyond/All That Is—is a universal language that transcends all the material world (than can be great distractions that lead to confusion and chaos IF we allow them to be).
Profound healing and full awakening/re-membering of All That Is starts from within.
An Army First Sergeant Who Loved Veggies Burgers
Toward the end of my duty station in Hawaii—sometime between 2006 and 2007—I had an experience that strongly influenced the way I perceived a certain food category.
I shared a few, brief stories about my Army First Sergeant (my direct supervisor at the time) within this blog, to include the one in post, “The Priceless Gifts from the Queen of the Happy Dance! ^_^” (themes of generosity and CRAZIness).
My coworker platoon sergeants and I used to tease her about certain things, like her not eating chicken (since she’s black/African American); and she was cool with it since it was all for fun, and she, too, had her own set of jokes for us. Note: By the way, she only ate turkey meat at the time because, genetically, she comes from a heavy-set family; hence, she had to be very disciplined in what she ate and how much she exercised.
One day, while in the middle of deciding where to eat for lunch, she asked if I ever tried a veggie burger, and I told her I had once, a while back.
She then suggested that I try BK’s veggie burger, and I informed her that there’s probably a very good reason why I don’t recall the last time I had a veggie burger.
She swore up and down with a big smile on her face that it’s really good, and that I would be missing out if I didn’t give it a shot; so I agreed since I was (and continue to be) open to new experiences.
After taking a bite and raising one eyebrow, a part of me didn’t want to burst the bubble that was her excited facial expression filled with the anticipation of a positive feedback.
However COMMA the truth had to be told, and I shared my honest opinion in the most gentle way possible—that I didn’t like it; she laughed.
Since then, I was determined to never eat a veggie burger again, or anything close to it; that experience made me feel as though I had wasted my money. Even the word vegetarian didn’t ring music to my ears (due to my own ignorance about the topic at the time). Note: Also shared in post info about the latest, tasty veggie burgers (The Beyond Burger and The Impossible Burger)
Since that memorable moment—mostly my close connection with my First Sergeant and especially seeing her smile and laugh—I had a plethora of colorful experiences that expanded my perspective, and only a few stood out from the rest.
Divine Synchronicity of Two Souls Named Arianna Near Christmas
One of them includes crossing paths with a vegetarian neighbor right before Christmas of 2016; this was while I was residing in Helotes, TX with my husband.
She was debating on whether or not she should go vegan, but she admitted that she loved feta cheese, which was completely understandable since that became my favorite cheese as well (until I watched mind-blowing documentaries like What the Health and Vegan 2017, that I saw after moving to Flagstaff, AZ the fall of last year).
When I first introduced myself to her in the common area hallway of our apartment building, I found out that her name is Arianna.
Her presence (vibes/vibrational frequency) felt so pure, like the meaning of her name, Arianna (very holy), which I discovered at a later time due to wondering why her name was repeating in my reality within a very short time-frame.
Repeating signs—whether in inner world (like dream state) or outer world (like physical reality)— are like neon, blinking signs that shout, “Psst, over here! I have a beneficial message for you”.
These signs and symbols within Divine synchronicity are from various extensions of Source (Soul/Spirit within), but ultimately from Very Holy Spirit within/Prime Creator/Creator of All Creation: Crop Circle 6666/Divine Mother Goddess).
Within a few days of Arianna moving in, I had an experience that could easily be overlooked as a mere coincidence; but even during that phase of my life, I had let go of that old and outdated belief conditioned by general society.
I highly resonated with Divine synchronicity (to include number synchronicity) ever since I learned about it shortly after leaving the Army lifestyle in the summer of 2011.
While sitting on the sofa, I glanced over our living window and noticed Arianna walking into our common hallway. I then had an urge to look over to my right, and I noticed the card that someone had made for me within that month (December).
One the front of this card was a big red and pink heart, and right below it read, “Love Arianna.”
Rewind: While briefly working at Little Cherubs as an Assistant Teacher—mostly for the 3 yo classroom and 4-5 preschool classroom, plus as a floater for infants, toddlers, and after school children—one of the after school girls, a fourth grader, had made me a thank you card.
I had placed it on the sofa because it was one of the last cards that I received from the children right before I left, and I was admiring it for a little while longer before placing it in the collection chest of gifts I received from interconnected others (to include some of my own children’s artwork and notes when they were little; they’re young adults now).
Again, on the front of this card was a big red and pink heart, and right below it read, “Love Arianna.” So as soon as I was reminded of this message again, I had a sudden desire to give my neighbor Arianna a home-made, unconventional, holiday card (within Mulantis Store) that I had made for family members, my husband’s former clients, and a few others.
Though I usually didn’t give so-called strangers cards, I just followed my heart. Plus, I had one blank card left, which to me, was another sign from the Universe within.
I was very grateful that I chose to follow my inner guidance, because Arianna shared her deep gratitude for the card, which she mentioned came to her at the perfect time.
I know, from personal experience, that it’s not easy moving to a new area alone, especially during the holiday season, where there’s so much bombarding propaganda around what certain holidays should be like (i.e., spent with family, surrounded by a lot of shiny objects, the exchange of gifts, etc.).
Side Note: The following short excerpt is a related theme within post, “Seeing with Clarity the True Meaning of Holidays“:
[…] as a reminder for us all that the birth of Jesus Christ (as well as other holidays) has a much more profound meaning than the exchange of material gifts, certain limiting religious teachings (that mixes love with fear), and commercialism.
One of the Gifts of Duality/Polarity: Absence of Appreciation vs Deep Appreciation
So it wasn’t so much that Arianna gave us a card in return, but her heartfelt expression within it. Her thoughtful gesture was actually a big surprise to me.
For years of making and sending cards and/or gifts to others (mostly family extended members)—whether store-bought or home-made—I hardly ever received any form of feedback (i.e., whether they even received them, liked them, didn’t like them), let alone deep appreciation.
This was a great reminder that when we experience the absence of something for a long time, we can experience a very deep appreciation for the sudden presence of it.
In addition, it’s also a great life lesson to unconditionally love self, to include having compassion for self and maintaining healthy boundaries.
When family members, friends, coworkers, etc. habitually ignore us—a form of intentional or unintentional emotional abuse, usually the latter—we don’t need to continue showing up and wasting each other’s time.
When they habitually show a lack of respect, consideration, effort (to have a relationship) and/or appreciation, it’s time to let go, move on, and make space for healthy and truly loving relationships (that’s starts from within).
Heartfelt Bonding IS a BIG Part of BEING the Interconnected, Multidimensional, Whole self (physical human)/Self (Source: Soul/Spirit within)
Arianna is so kind, honest, non-judgmental, gentle yet fun, loving and lovable, and much more. We shared with one another brief, yet, soul-igniting conversations, organic teas and food, smiles and laughter, hugs, and other heartfelt moments.
Though we don’t stay in touch, and our so-called time together seemed pretty short (nine months), she will always have a place in my heart; I also gave her my email address before I left in case she needed anything or simply wanted to reconnect.
The Breadcrumbs Leading to Vegan World
In addition to the above memorable experience, the following are somewhat, recent experiences—related to the theme of this post—that have been recorded in these posts:
-
The Gift of Wisdom from the Experience of: Comfort Food Lover
where the witnessing of other comfort food lovers and/or addicts helped me to have compassion for them/self and better understand self/them—through their vlogs that included small gems of key, verbal and nonverbal expressions, and invaluable, heartfelt, personal stories that revealed deeper, sad truths)
-
Being Understanding, Compassionate, Accepting, and Even Patient with Non-Vegans
- When we treat others like idiots for not being aware of something, it can really discourage them from wanting to ask questions and/or learn.Let’s teach one another with patience, deep understanding, empathy, wisdom, and unconditional acceptance/embrace/love, which is much more effective and highly beneficial for humanity and beyond.
-
- Choosing to be a vegan can be a very loving act and compassionate way of Being, ONLY when our healthy, physical energy body is in alignment with our other connected, energy bodies—mental, emotional, and spiritual. If one is vegan, but is habitually judgmental (unbalanced mental energy body) towards those who are different, then s/he is NO better, more righteous, or more superior than those who are lost within the dark valley of separation consciousness (us vs them mentality).
Exploring, Experiencing, Enjoying, Learning, Understanding, Sensing/Feeling, Growing, Comparing, Developing Preferences, Choosing to Love Self Unconditionally, Continuing to Expand Consciousness and Evolve on All Levels
Since 3/3/2018, my husband and I decided to explore the vegan food world, to find out what we’d like to incorporate into out lives.
Though we’re not vegans, we’ve been eating a mostly plant-based diet. Kimchi, that I starting enjoying since childhood, is not nearly the same without fish sauce, and once in a while, when my body sends me strong signals (and not in an addiction kind of way), I like to enjoy clams, squid, grilled fish or meat (usually caught in the wild, humanely raised, and/or organic, grass-fed).
I’ve developed a habit of blessing my food and expressing gratitude for whatever I drink and eat, so I trust that this loving intention and act is suffice. In addition, I trust that Spirit within is ultimately neutral/has no judgment.
We’ve also discontinued eating dairy since it’s not truly beneficial for our bodies. Granted, in the post, “The Lesson of the So-Called Bad Personality,” I shared the following treat day (rather than a cheat day):
[…] since it was cold outside that evening, I was no longer interested in roaming around looking for a store that’s opened, so that I could hang out there while waiting for the event to start.
Though I’ve enjoyed the Tara Thai restaurant, I didn’t feel like going there at the moment. I then noticed a pizza place that displayed a banner claiming they have the best (or something to that effect), so I was curious.
So even though my husband and I have been doing well eating mostly vegan food for a little over a mont, ever since March 3, 2018 (the beginning of the experimenting phase), I chose not to feel guilty for exploring now and then. Note: Planning to post soon of a collection of tasty vegan products we’ve tried so far
We’re in the process of not judging whatever we’re drawn to do, so I ordered a slice of white pizza (with spinach, tomatoes, etc.) and a beer.
Though the white pizza was pretty good, strangely, the slice of vegan pizza we had at Wholefoods(with various veggies and stretchy vegan cheese) earlier for lunch was more delicious.
So I was grateful that I had the experience, because the remnant of wondering, of whether or not I was missing out on non-vegan pizza, seemed to vanish with the wind.
A Cow Who Asked a Human to Briefly Walk in Her Hooves
Since that last dairy experience, I choose to no longer eat it, not only because of health reasons, but because I don’t like that factory cows get forced to be impregnated, have calves that get taken away from their mothers immediately or shortly after birth, and then the female cows get tied to milking machines for long hours throughout the day (a very unnatural, and probably painful process).
Once, I saw a very short video clip of a mother cow and her calf bonding within a fenced area. Seconds later, I small truck full of caged calves came by, a few men jumped out of the truck, aggressively grabbed the calf, put it in a cage-like box, and loaded it onto the truck.
As the truck was pulling away, the mother cow started running after it; it was a heartbreaking moment. Many people may think it’s not a big deal since they’re “only cows,” but I have no doubt that any living being that’s capable of feeling (human or animals) would be devastated if some aggressive strangers came by and basically kidnapped a baby human(s) or baby animal(s) and disappeared into the dust.
A Human Baby Raised in a Small Box
Though I was never a big fan of veal, I probably ate it less than a handful of times my entire life; but that was before I found out how they make veal in a very cruel and heartless way. I haven’t ate veal in over a decade, and I don’t miss it at all.
Beneficial Use vs Misuse and Abuse
When it comes to animals that have been humanely domesticated for food throughout human history—like cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, etc.—I trust that the Spirit within them have embraced serving the needs of humans; hence they don’t consider themselves victims.
However, the misuse and abuse of these domesticated animals—by certain farms, companies and huge corporations—have caused much suffering, which negatively impacts humanity, planet Earth, and merging worlds as well.
Vegans, 100% Vegans, Hard-Core Vegans, or Not?
Some people claim to be vegan, 100% vegan, or even hard-core vegans, but I wonder how accurate or true those statements are.
I once witnessed a spiritual teacher who was very persistent, determined, and persuasive in his YouTube videos about converting people to be a healthy vegan just like himself; but even he admitted to binging on potatoes chips every now and then (that was on his video list of what NOT to eat).
I also witnessed another spiritual teacher who claimed to be a hard-core vegan, but yet, she wears either leather, high-heel shoes, or what appears to be leather high-heel shoes.
Nonetheless, from my understanding, if one is a so-called hard-core vegan, then it’s not just about what one eats, but choosing to be vegan is a lifestyle—to include not ever using any animal part (like leather).
So whether one wears real leather or fur, or fake leather or fur, it’s the idea of promoting the use of animal parts that apparently matters in vegan world.
My husband and I recently started watching the YouTube video, “Why I’m Not Vegan – Is anyone 100% Vegan ?“; and though we’ve only watched less than a quarter of it, we’re leaning towards finishing it unless we feel otherwise.
Granted, the younger guy in the video (I think John) does come off as though he’s had one too many cups of espressos—and may need a quick, love-based, slap in the face if he continues to be that way for another hour—but him and the older gentleman shared some interesting, thought-provoking, and valid facts so far.
Anti-Corporations, Pro-Corporations, OR Discernment, Balance & Harmony
I once met a nice couple who came to my meetup group in San Antonio, TX. I learned an important lesson from them, though they didn’t directly teach it to me.
They were very much about not supporting any major corporations, which was completely understandable then. My husband and I have also chosen to discontinue supporting major corporations who continue to be a disservice to humanity and beyond—and no longer eating at fast food places (and most chain restaurants that are very unhealthy) is one of them.
However, my husband brought up a good point. Unless that couple has an electric-run vehicle, where do they get their gas from? Aren’t the gas companies part of, or are the major corporations?
And what about furniture and major household appliances (like washers, dryers, stoves, etc.)? I suppose the list can go on.
Choosing to BE Free: Outside of Society-Made Boxes
Though I considered becoming a vegan at one, recent, brief point, I chose not to place any unnecessary labels on myself; plus, I’ve realized more so recently that I definitely don’t like to be put into boxes made by general society.
There are billions of opinions out there, so rather than overwhelm myself with them, I chose to liberate myself by simply Being and doing whatever resonates with my Multidimensional self (physical self)/Self (Soul/Spirit within)—aka integrated Mind/Heart, Sun/Moon, Yang/Yin, I (God) AM (Goddess) Presence.
A Healthier AND Enjoyable Way of Eating
Thanks to several writers via blogs, articles, and even a few videos, we were able to narrow down what not to buy; otherwise, a lot of money could be wasted on experimenting with a wide-range of options.
The more we experimented with the various vegan foods—that surprisingly has a lot of options, unlike back in the day—the more we replaced the foods we used to eat (like dairy, cereals, and meats) with the much healthier and tastier options.
In addition, we’ve been adding a lot more fresh, organic vegetables to our meals, as well as mostly low-sugar fruits (berries, tangerines, mangoes, etc.).
Our often used meat replacement is tofu—I like steamed or boiled in stir-fry dishes and flavored soups and stews, and my husband likes fried tofu.
Our favorite Korean and Thai food dishes include a lot of veggies, fermented foods (like various kinds of kimchi and soybean paste soup or stew), dried, seasoned seaweed, and kelp for soups.
We also incorporate The Vega All in One Mocha shake whenever we feel like it, with a teaspoon of added spirulina. Note: I recently noticed that the company became all organic. UPDATE (added 7/7/2018): Garden of Life: Raw Organic Meal, Vanilla Spiced Chai flavor is delightful with purified water!! ^_^ Next time, I’ll add a teaspoon of spirulina and see how it tastes, and also try it with organic almond milk.
Worry About Spending Some Extra Money on Healthier Foods OR Be Determined to Love Self & Be Prosperity Consciousness
Note: I turned this section of this post into its own post—since it can be read on its own—and changed it to a title that more people can relate to, “Continue Barely Getting by OR Be Determined to Love Self, Be Free, & Live Abundantly” (click title above to open link in another window)
The following is the last bullet section of the list from the subtitle, “Tasty and NOT So Tasty Vegan Food List,” that I transferred into its own post (click title above to open link in another window):
- Yves Hot Dogs: NOT good in appearance, taste and texture, and it seemed like we were eating artificial food. Even the neighborhood stray cat, crows, and ravens didn’t bother to touch these vegan hot dogs for two days, and they often eat certain leftover foods that we leave them (mostly wet and/or dry leftover or additional cat food). My husband added that they must also prefer eating out of the dumpster rather than eating v-dogs. If they all had a conversation the day we left them that meal, I imagine that it went something like this…
A Passionate Conversation Between the Crows, Stray Cat, and Raven
Crow #1 to Other Crows: “Hey, any of you see what jackass left these artificial things that look like hot dogs? Gettin’ me all excited for nothing.”
Crow #5: “Caw! Caw! It was that one dude who we can’t tell where he’s from; can’t tell if he’s Hispanic, Portuguese, Mixed Caucasian, Italian, Middle Eastern…”
Crow #2: “So he’s a mutt, a DOG who dared to feed us crap! That’s some BULLshit right there.”
Crow #4: “Oh yyyeah, now I remember. He’s the one who we often see blowing out all those toxic fumes into our precious air! It’s from those white sticks!”
Crow #3: “That dirty, rat-bastard…as though he didn’t do enough damage to our well being.”
Crow #1: “That’s all right, we got somethin’ for him. The next time he comes outside, let’s aim from high above, and gift the MF our own version of crap. MWAH CAW CAW CAW!!!”
Stray Cat (passing by): “Do you knuckleheads not remember all the other times him and his wife fed us with wet and dry foods, especially during this past, harsh, cold, winter? They’d actually go out of their way to leave us food, even if it means coming outside during heavy snowfall.”
Huge Raven (observing from a tree): “She makes a great point. ONE time they leave us with something they thought we’d actually eat—since we DO have a reputation of not being picky eaters…besides you cat—and everyone and their daddies and grand-daddies want to get their invisible undies jammed up their tiny asses.”
Crows (all together): “True. Let’s put them back on our friends list.”
Restaurants that Serve Vegan Food
Note: I will update this list as we incorporate other restaurants that serve vegan food in or somewhat near Flagstaff, AZ
- Red Curry Vegan Kitchen in Flagstaff: First vegan restaurant that my husband and I have ever been to; we ate there a few times so far and LOVE it; plus, we love Thai food; wrote a 5 star Google review for it under Barbara D.
- Pizza Patio: They serve both non-vegan and vegan pizzas. We’ve only ate there once, but it was an overall great experience. We wrote a review for them as well.
- Dellepiane in Sedona: The Impossible Burger that we ate here was described above (we once had an impossible burger at a restaurant in Sedona, and though the burger itself was similar to the appearance, texture, and smoky flavor of a real, slightly pink, juicy burger, the bread (probably grilled with an excessive amount of vegan butter), in addition to the added vegan cheese, was way too rich that it made me nauseous afterwards as well. However, I’m open to tasting other versions of the Impossible Burger. The owner of Pizza Patio even shared with us that they are in the process of creating a delicious version of the Impossible Burger after some experimentation.
