For a while now, I’ve chosen to not be a hard-core follower of any particular, outer spiritual teacher since:
- I realized that I don’t resonate with everything this world’s spiritual teachers teach, since certain expressions (verbal and/or non-verbal) may not FEEL light, right, true, and/or accurate (due to everyone, including myself, having our own society-conditioned filters that don’t allow for Spirit’s pure messages to completely flow through), and…
- I’m on a journey of discovering more and more of the ultimate spiritual teacher, who’s the Inner Guidance/Master Teacher within all of us, as well as Master Healer (Wounded Healer)/Master Builder/Master of Frequencies/Master Alchemist/Soul & Spirit/Higher Mind & Higher Heart/God & Goddess/Light & Love/Yang & Yin/Sun & Moon.
I’ve also learned over the years, that just because one claims to be a very reliable spiritual teacher, doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s accurate. I’ve even noticed that there are so-called spiritual teachers in this world who have read many books, and are good at memorizing and regurgitating (in fancy ways) a lot of worldly spiritual, and even profound shiny concepts.
But I wonder, if they’ve ever experienced —let alone fully experienced with their integrated Mind/Heart–what it’s truly like to Be those concepts that they so confidently (and even arrogantly) preach to others, suggest to others, or even demand others to be or don’t be (a certain way) or do or don’t do (a list of things).
For instance, we can read many books about profound, Unconditional/True Love (and even Unconditional Forgiveness), and even watch YouTube videos, TV shows, and movies, about it, and also hear others share their personal stories about it, and live vicariously through them.
However, until we actually EXPERIENCE/LIVE what it FEELS like to unconditionally love and unconditionally forgive self/others—and not solely comprehend the shiny concepts via our rational minds—we will never really KNOW what they’re like; EXPERIENTIAL KNOWLEDGE is TRUE WISDOM.
Below is an example, that’s to the extreme, to provide a very obvious, neon-like sign/idea:
A so-called spiritual teacher (with little to no experience) preaches to another who’s actually lived through very challenging, traumatic experiences:
“I understand [though s/he really doesn’t have a freakin’ clue at the heart level] that you’ve been brutally abused and/or tortured on various levels—psychologically (mentally and emotionally), physically, and/or sexually—-during childhood and adulthood.
But stop living in the past, stop believing what you believe, stop feeling your negative emotions and feelings, don’t worry about healing old wounds, and only positively focus on the present moment of now and the bright future through my wise teachings [of “do what I say, not as I’ve done, as an example, or even do“].
I know how you feel [NO YOU DON’T], because I, too, have experienced my caregiver(s) saying or doing some mean things to me during childhood [i.e., not allowing him or her to: always get what they want, hang out with friends who are not a good influence, play video games most of the day, get into trouble, irresponsibly spend money that’s not his or hers, be disrespectful, be a major pain in the @$$, be very spoiled, etc.], my Facebook friends ignoring or unfriending me [because his or her definition of a friendship is one sided], my lover breaking up with me [because s/he was an @$$ at times as well], and my boss not giving me another raise [because s/he doesn’t take initiative as well].
If I can rise above all the extreme challenges, chaos, depression, and suffering that I’ve been through [BULL$h!+/FACADE], and quickly forgive and love others, and enjoy the beauty of life, you can too.”
Granted, I trust that there are old to very ancient souls out there who embody a young to older, seemingly inexperienced physical body/vehicle, mind, and/or heart, but yet, they are intuitively and deeply wise beyond their outer years; perhaps many are starseeded souls (aka starseeds) as well.
Below is a real life example of why I trust that it’s very important to LIVE BY EXAMPLE rather than merely gather worldly spiritual teachings:
Someone I know—who I overall respect and like, and I’m continuing to fully embrace—studied about this world’s Spirituality forย a few decades.
She invited me a few times to join her in meditation or yoga classes, but I politely declined.
Why? Because 1) it was apparent that those classes and courses, over a very long period of time, have not helped her much in her daily, often fear-based life (until recently), and 2) I didn’t feel like going, and I’ve been practicing even more so lately, to always honor and follow my inner guidance/true feelings (language of the Soul).
In addition, I’m at a place now in my life, where I feel that we can Be in a meditative state in many different ways—while enjoying our own presence, while being fully and genuinely present with another, while massaging and talking to a pet(s), while doing the dishes, while walking and communicating with nature, while savoring a delicious meal, while doing something creative and fun, while admiring the beauty of life, while watering and communicating to indoor plants, while smudging and appreciating crystals, while enjoying aromatherapy / sound therapy / color therapy, while lying in bed in silence and stillness, while sharing much Light and Unconditional Love (with self/others), and much more.
It seems that many people mistaken meditation as strictly being in a certain position while sitting down, and isolating self from the rest of the world; this is one way, but not the only way.
When it comes to yoga, I have no doubt that there are those who do it for solely, or mostly, ulterior reasons—to hop on society’s band wagon of what’s popular, to impress others, to post on fb and other social media, to prove something to themselves, to do what they believe is the “right” and/or “good” thing to do, to add another bullet to their accomplishments, to convince themselves and others that they’re healthy, flexible, determined, dedicated, ambitious, motivated, and/or spiritual, etc.
And then there are those who are truly dedicated to the sacred practice of yoga in order to highly benefit self/interconnected Life within this world and beyond.
For me personally, I experienced yoga twice, and didn’t really care for it because:
- the yoga that I experienced while in the Army, that was part of P90X (that we had to do), was extremely exhausting, and…
- the yoga I experienced after I left the Army, I wasn’t impressed with because the elderly, yet very fit, male teacher—who seemed arrogant and standoffish, and unwilling to even greet any of his students—was more concerned about showing off his own difficult, fancy poses, than actually teaching his students who had difficulty following his speedy demonstrations. At one point, when I asked if he could slow down a little, he replied with a stern facial expression and insensitive tone, that even a blind person could do what he does effortlessly. I suppose a red flag was him posting a photo of himself on his website doing a super fancy pose, where he was decades younger, though the photos of the other teachers matched their current selves. I wondered if I was being mirrored the narcissist aspect that wants to be embraced and integrated into whole individual and collective self; after all, a truly confident person wouldn’t feel the need or desire to use their gifts in that way.
I realize that the above two examples don’t accurately represent the whole of the yoga community, so I’m open to different versions of yoga in the future—with actual teachers who desire to teach others in a kind and patient way; but when that time comes, I’ll go with the flow and feel whether or not I’d like to participate.
The following is a comment I shared for one of my favorite Abraham Hicks’ videos about Unconditional Love titled, “Abraham Hicks ๐ Take everyone out of the equation and watch everything transform [NEW]“:
Side Note: The title of the video above reminded me of why it’s important and highly beneficial for self/others to simply continuing Being (authentic whole self to the best of my abilities) where I’m currently at (Sedona: where hell and heaven seem to merge)—and continue to do all that I do (enjoy interconnected Life and embrace shadow work at home, job, community, outside of Sedona, etc.)—despite seemingly insurmountable challenges at times.
This is HANDS DOWN one of the most profound teachings about Unconditional/True Love (for self/interconnected others); I also LOVE the highly creative and helpful analogies and examples that Abraham often uses. THANK YOU ABRAHAM-ESTHER HICKS. I’m also grateful for the gift of contrast that showed up as a great lesson—the guy who said he’s Abraham’s DISCIPLE, who could definitely put more effort towards active listening, and actually LIVING more of Abraham’s teachings (that he claims to know so well).
Because we can have an abundance of knowledge that our logical minds have collected over the years, and even decades, but merely memorizing them, and then regurgitating them in shiny ways in front of others, doesn’t equate to EXPERIENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, which is TRUE WISDOM.
