A True Man of God

I find myself highly drawn to Joel Osteen’s sermons; he’s a different kind of pastor, a VERY spiritual one who focuses on positive topics, and always reminding us about God’s love and power, as well as the love and power within us. Pastor Joel Osteen doesn’t come off as:

– “I’m holier than thou”:  like saying “YOU need to do this or that” rather than saying “We” or “Us”

– Judgmental and controlling:  like preaching AT you to change your ways rather than trying to teach you and help you understand the word of God

– Negative: like focusing on “We were born sinners” or talking about the devil’s power (which, by the way, is no match for God if you truly believe in an Almighty, All-loving and All-powerful God)

– threatening/manipulating/instilling fear:  like “If you do this, you’re going to hell” or “If you don’t do this, you’re not going to heaven”

So far, I’ve seen his following messages, and loved every one of them, so I wanted to share them with you:

• Run Your Race (June 3rd)
• The God Who Closes Doors (June 10th): I even included his inspiration from this message in my post, “Liberating Wings of Freedom,” which is about using God’s gifts of unconditional love, forgiveness, courage and strength to rise above abuse (physical, verbal, sexual, and/or emotional) while helping the abuser (a lost soul) to heal as well.
• Waiting with Expectancy (June 17th)
• Don’t Settle for Good Enough (June 24th)
• Show Honor (July 1st)

I’ve experienced many sermons from pastors and priests from American and Korean churches of various denominations, but none of them have blown me away like Pastor Joel Osteen. His words just ring truth to them, and touch my soul like no other. I believe he is an angel sent by God, and I hope that him and his loved ones continue to receive all of God’s amazing blessings from the universe. I thank God for crossing paths with his televised ministry, something I’m usually not attracted to. Pastor Joel Osteen inspires me to become a better human being  than I was the very last moment of existence.
