2004, HRSOC, Hawaii: One of Bobbie’s Soldiers was highly motivated, more than she had ever seen before. What impressed her the most about him, was his ability to walk around and greet every single person walking by with a genunie smile and outgoing greeting like, “Good morning Sir!” or “Looking very nice today ma’am!” Unfortunately, not everyone would reply, but it didn’t stop SGT V from being who he wanted to be. Maybe they were having a bad day, or maybe they weren’t paying attention. Who knows? What’s important is that those who did reply, appeared very happy and pleased that someone would go out of their way to be polite. SGT V told Bobbie that she should try it out because it was definitely worth it in the end. Bobbie liked the idea and practiced more and more each day. SGT V was right…it did feel good, and it is worth it. More people should do it, because a smile and some kind words are highly contagious.
